Original receipt-image processing requires acceptance of the receipt-processing terms. Acceptance covers future submitted receipts until you turn processing off. Original images, including visible personal information, may be sent to OpenAI without local redaction. Turning processing off does not delete saved records or cancel billing.
Effective date: September 19, 2026. Contact: beta@chie.house.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By creating an account, accepting an invite, accessing Chie, submitting receipts or order records, or using any Chie feature, you agree to these Terms and to the policies linked during signup, including the Privacy Policy and AI and Data Processing Notice.
If you use Chie for a household, family, organization, or other person, you represent that you have authority to submit the relevant purchase records and to choose any sharing settings you apply.
2. Private Beta
Chie is currently offered as a private beta. Features may be incomplete, experimental, unavailable, changed, paused, rate-limited, or removed while the service is being prepared for broader hosting. Beta access may require an invite link, approval, password setup, policy acceptance, and supported authentication methods.
We may suspend, revoke, or limit beta access at any time for security, abuse prevention, operational reasons, non-use, violation of these Terms, or product changes.
Chie beta-access text program
By sending the prefilled beta request message, you expressly consent to receive automated Chie beta-access texts at the phone number you use. The program sends up to two messages: one confirmation after your request and, if access is granted, one registration-link text. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
Reply STOP at any time to opt out or HELP for help. You can also contact beta@chie.house. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, and message delivery is not guaranteed. Keep a registration link private; it may be time-limited and usable only once. See the Privacy Policy for how Chie handles mobile information and SMS consent records.
3. Account Access and Security
You are responsible for keeping your password, passkeys, devices, invite links, and account sessions secure. Use a strong unique password, protect your devices, and notify us promptly at beta@chie.house if you suspect unauthorized access.
Signup is intended to happen only through an authorized invite link. You may not share private invite links publicly, bypass access controls, use another person's credentials, impersonate another person, or attempt to access another account.
4. Your Content and Purchase Records
"User Content" means receipts, receipt images, forwarded order emails, pasted order text, purchase records, item information, account profile details, support messages, family-sharing choices, and other information you submit to Chie.
You keep ownership of your User Content. You grant Chie a limited license to host, store, process, transform, extract, search, display, export, analyze, protect, and otherwise use User Content as needed to provide Chie, operate family-sharing features, improve reliability, maintain security, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to submit User Content. Do not submit full payment card numbers, government identifiers, bank credentials, health records, or other highly sensitive documents that Chie does not need.
5. Purchase Intelligence Is Not Professional Advice
Chie provides purchase organization, extraction, search, analytics, household insights, and related convenience features. Chie does not provide legal, tax, accounting, financial, insurance, medical, or professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing records before relying on them for returns, warranties, reimbursements, taxes, business expenses, budgeting, or other important decisions.
Receipt extraction, OCR, categorization, deduplication, item grouping, pricing comparisons, warranty cues, and AI-generated summaries can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Keep original records when you need legally reliable documentation.
6. AI and Automated Processing
Chie may use local or external OCR, document parsing, vision, language, embedding, and similar systems to process purchase records. Those systems may produce mistakes. Chie is designed to minimize model exposure by sending bounded purchase/order metadata and redacted snippets when full content is not needed.
AI outputs are informational and should be treated as drafts, suggestions, or analysis aids. See the AI and Data Processing Notice for more detail.
7. Family and Sharing Features
Chie may allow family or household members to share purchase records, limits, credits, invitations, and related account features. Records marked shared may be visible to authorized family members. Records marked private are intended to remain visible only to the submitting account and authorized security/support processes.
You are responsible for choosing the correct visibility setting before submitting or sharing a record. If you leave a family group or change sharing settings, some historical records or audit metadata may remain as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Privacy and Data Protection Commitments
Chie is built around a privacy boundary: administrators and engineers should not browse user purchase contents as part of normal operations. Admin tools are intended to show masked contacts, account status, usage counts, limits, aggregate trends, and job status rather than receipt, order, item, or purchase contents.
Production data and local operational snapshots are stored on access-restricted server systems using file permissions, service isolation, and limited operator access. These local copies are not currently represented as encrypted at rest or as off-site disaster-recovery backups. Customer-facing network transfers under Chie's control use HTTPS/TLS.
Access to production data is reserved for operation, security, legal compliance, or explicit user-directed support and is logged where practical. These controls reduce risk but cannot remove every risk.
9. Prohibited Uses
You may not use Chie to:
- break the law, violate another person's rights, or submit records you are not authorized to submit;
- attempt to access, probe, scan, disrupt, reverse engineer, overload, or compromise Chie systems;
- bypass authentication, invite, rate-limit, CSRF, visibility, privacy, or admin controls;
- upload malware, exploit code, deceptive content, or content intended to interfere with processing systems;
- scrape, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Chie without written permission;
- use Chie to build profiles about others without appropriate permission;
- submit full payment card numbers, government identifiers, bank login credentials, or other unnecessary sensitive documents.
10. Service Availability and Changes
Chie may be unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, provider outages, security work, beta limitations, or events outside our control. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, providers, models, limits, and policies as the product evolves.
11. Fees and Future Paid Features
Chie may currently be offered without charge during beta. We may introduce paid plans, limits, family seats, usage-based charges, or other pricing later. If paid features are introduced, we will provide applicable terms before charging you.
12. Third-Party Services
Chie may depend on third-party hosting, storage, communications, OCR, AI, analytics, security, and infrastructure providers. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control, including your email provider, phone carrier, device provider, browser, stores, payment networks, or merchants.
13. Intellectual Property
Chie, the Chie name, logos, design, software, workflows, documentation, and related materials are owned by NIXA Inc. or its licensors. Except for the rights expressly granted to you, we reserve all rights in Chie.
If you provide feedback, suggestions, bug reports, or ideas, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, while continuing to respect the privacy commitments in the Privacy Policy.
14. Termination
You may stop using Chie at any time. You may request deletion of your account or records by contacting beta@chie.house. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk for the service or other users, or used Chie in a harmful or unauthorized way.
15. Disclaimers
Chie is provided "as is" and "as available" during the private beta. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, error-free processing, and absolute accuracy of OCR, AI, categorization, analytics, or search results.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Chie and NIXA Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption arising from or related to your use of Chie. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
17. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Chie and NIXA Inc. from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of Chie, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or submission of content you were not authorized to submit.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where NIXA Inc. is organized or primarily operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless a different law is required by your local consumer protection rights.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Chie changes or as legal requirements evolve. If changes are material, we will provide appropriate notice, such as updating the version date, notifying beta users, or requiring renewed acceptance.
20. Contact
Questions, support requests, privacy requests, and legal notices can be sent to beta@chie.house.
