The Chie Pledge

Your memories answer to you.

Collect with restraint. Explain the purpose. Keep control with the person. Everything Chie does, today and as it grows, is held to these six commitments.

01 · You are not inventory.

Chie is built to serve the people using it—not an ad market, a data broker, or a behavioral profile. We will never sell your information or show you ads.

02 · Private is a real default.

New personal records begin private. Sharing should be deliberate, visible, and controlled by the member whose data it is.

03 · Keep only what earns its place.

Chie should collect the smallest useful amount, retain it for a clear purpose, and make deletion a first-class control.

04 · No routine internal browsing.

Support should rely on operational metadata. Exceptional access to sensitive content must be limited, justified, and logged.

05 · Processing stays bounded.

Automated processing should receive only the fields it needs. External processing choices should be disclosed and controlled.

06 · Your control continues.

Access, export, correction, and deletion are ongoing product responsibilities—not a one-time consent screen.

How Chie for iPhone keeps it

There is no Chie account and no Chie server holding your memories. What you save stays on your iPhone, protected by Apple’s on-device security; photo reading and descriptions run on the device with Apple Intelligence. Backups go to your own iCloud Drive, and you can export or permanently delete everything from the app. That’s also why Chie is only available on Apple devices.

Useful while you need it. Clear controls when you do not.

Chie can preserve useful history over time, but saved information should remain understandable and manageable. Chie should make deletion clear and state when legal or operational constraints affect removal.

The Pledge describes Chie’s principles. The Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are the controlling documents.
